Cosy Corner , Baslow

A secret little hideaway in a peaceful corner of the lovely Peak District village of Baslow.

Sleeps: 2 (1 bedroom) | Change over day: Friday

Cosy Corner Cottage is a secret little hideaway, classily decorated and furnished with a cosy lounge, 'state of the art' kitchen and bathroom and a really lovely bedroom. It's the attention to detail that sets the cottage apart with simple but brilliant use of colour, lovely drapes, crisp linen and fluffy towels making for an unforgettable stay.

Tucked away in a quiet corner of the lovely village of Baslow, on the very edge of the wonderful Chatsworth Estate, it also has a really great location. There are lots and lots of things to explore in the village from the craft centre and gift stores to the three pubs, four restaurants and the Cavendish Hotel. Our favourite is an evening walk by the river before a super meal in Rowley's bistro.

Chatsworth with its magnificent house and gardens, peaceful Haddon Hall and famous Bakewell with its 'puddings' are all just a few minutes' drive away. Baslow and Curbar Edges which overlook the village make for great walks and breathtaking views. All the Peak District's sparkling rivers, picturesque villages, dramatic dales and endless range of other attractions are just as close by.

Visitor's Comments

"The cottage is perfect for two people. It helped that there was a bike store as we had brought our bikes with us. Baslow is also a very nice village: easy walking to Chatsworth House and plenty for well rated eating places. The cottage had all the necessary items to make it a home from home. Definitely would recommend"

"Cosy Cottage is a lovely place for 2 people. It was scrupulously clean, everything was there that we needed. We prefer to cook for ourselves in the evening, after a long day out walking, rather than to go out. We found the kitchen very well equipped, to enable us to do so, with all the utensils that we might need, together with cling film, foil, kitchen roll, dish cloths and washing up liquid - all the things that you take for granted when at home. Together with teabags, coffee, milk etc. The cottage is very warm and snug, and super quiet. Exactly what we needed as we were both recovering from a lingering chesty virus, and this was a great way to recuperate. We walked from it each day in a different direction, also taking the bus to Wyedale at the start of the Monsal Trail and walking home, another day took the bus into Matlock and walked back along the Derwent Valley Heritage Trail. Also strolls into Chatsworth Park of an evening. Thank you so much to Liz for her care and attention."

"Cosy Corner is a beautiful little cottage in an ideal location. I stayed for a short week and will certainly hope to come back. Made a great base to explore the Peak District and wasn't far from anything. Best of all was the walk to Chatsworth; you're on the estate within 10-15 minutes! Communication with Liz was great from start to finish. Highly recommended."
