Thanks so much we had a great time here. It’s a terrific base for walks with a super pub for a sundowner just up the road. If you like river walks try Dovedale- about half an hours drive but well worth it.’

Hannah and S,

This is a great cottage to stay in. Thanks for the biscuits and drinks- very good. There are great walks from here, from the door and from the car. The pub is great- lovely food. Thanks so much.

Previous Customer,

We loved our time here- great location and perfect house for our stay. Thanks so much Ruth !’

Previous Customer,

Really enjoyed our break at Undercroft. Cottage is lovely and cosy, the garden fantastic, perfectly located in the village of Foolow. Many super walks, recommend the Jane Austen walk at Hathersage- superb views. Despite the weather forecasts we had largely good weather with a few rain showers. Tremendous bird life in the garden and wonderful walks starting just outside the front door. Lovely meals and beer down at the Bull, fabulous views from the front of the Barrel and great walk back. Foolow is a most lovely village as is Eyam. Great time, great place. Thank you Ruth. ‘

Mhairi and T,

We had a lovely, long weekend at 'Undercroft'. The cottage is ideally located for relaxing walks from the doorstep and within a short drive. The garden is also very peaceful to sit in if you don't want to venture out. The Welcome pack was very generous and the cottage was very comfortable. It was good to have a well-equipped kitchen with a proper oven as no indoor pubs/ restaurants were able to be open. We very much hope to return in the future.

Mr S,

Have really enjoyed our short stay at ‘Undercroft’. House and garden are lovely. The weather has been mixed but some great walks from here and from Tideswell. Thank you so much for the generous ‘welcome pack’ it was much appreciated!’

Simon and K,

Very well equipped and very nice touches for welcoming guests. Excellent location, nice village and pub, close to all the attractions and great hikes of Peak District.

Ms C,

We know and love the area. Undercroft is a perfect place to walk direct from the house. We also used Baslow as a base for walking. Perfect weather for the whole week. The pub served delicious meals and White's of Calver have Fischers ready meals for eating in and out in the summerhouse. Excellent welcome pack-thank you.

Henry and S,

A wonderful place for R and R after a busy term teaching in schools. Book of circular walks was invaluable in helping us to explore the surrounding area without using the cars. This was the perfect place to reunite with our daughter who rented 3 doors along – the summer house allowed us to share meals together and relax in the wonderful non-stop sunshine. Thank you for the biscuits and flowers.

Caroline and D,

Undercroft Cottage is a lovely place to spend a few days in the Peak District. The cottage is well kept, clean and tidy with all the amenities required. The beds are comfy and there is a plentiful supply of hot water. The cottage has wifi and a smart TV which can be useful for rainy days and plenty of walks straight from the front door for all the others! The village is situated in a very beautiful countryside location but is also close to Bakewell for any shopping we required. Parking is easy...either straight outside the door or on the green near the duck pond. We chose the latter as the road is fairly narrow and as there was harvesting, we thought we should make life a little easier for the tractor drivers! Altogether we can thoroughly recommend it!

Previous Customer,

I’ve just came back from a week in the Peak District. We stayed at Undercroft cottage in Foolow. The place was lovely, very well located, cosy and comfortable. There are lots of nice walks from the cottage and it’s a short drive away to many popular attractions. There is a pub just at the end of the road that serves amazing delicious food and local beer to try. The cottage was well equipped, it has everything we need and we were treated to fresh flowers, milk for our tea, cake and a bottle of Prosecco to a good start of our holiday. I definitely recommend this place.

Previous Customer,

Had a lovely few days up here in the Peaks for our "girls" holiday - although the August weather was very wet.

Previous Customer,

Great Christmas here. Good local walks, well equipped cottage, slightly tricky to keep warm, but had fabulous Xmas meal with 93 year old grandma visiting here. Thank you. Happy New Year.

Potter Pedder family,

Flowers, fizz and brownies much appreciated. Weather favourable, loved day in Eyam with carnival and local produce. Great walks and plenty of National Trust properties. Great days out so many thanks from the Lamb family. Particularly enjoyed Lady Bower Reservoir walks, Monsal Trail and both Bakewell and Buxton worth a visit.

Dawn and D,

Lovely stay, very comfortable. You were right about the weather! Thank you for the flowers, wine and cakes. which were all appreciated.

Lesley and T,

We've had a wonderful week at Undercroft Cottage despite the mixed weather. Thank you for going the extra (few) miles Ruth to help us replace the bedding after Lauren was unwell. Also for the welcome gifts and well equipped kitchen- a rare luxury when away from one's own home. The facilities provided for families are excellent too.

Previous Customer,

At last - lockdown over! A lovely place to stay and celebrate release from Covid-19 lockdown. Such a comfortable and roomy cottage with a wonderful garden. The Bull a great place to eat in the evening and so many walks from the front door. We'll be back.

Paul and A,

Lovely holiday in a lovely cottage. Very well equipped and kids loved the presents, as we did the fizz and biscuits. Lots of great local walks, welcoming village pub with good food, the fire kept my husband 'busy' !! Thank you

Hedges family, C,

Great cottage to stay. Close to lots of walking paths. Thank you for the biscuits and the welcoming stove. Lovely garden. Everything very well stocked. Thank-you.

Diane and C,

We love Undercroft cottage, and our only complaint is that we can't stay longer. Thanks for making us so comfortable, we've had a really relaxing stay. Lots of great walks in the area, plus great food and drink at The Bull. We'll definitely be back.....'

The Bream-Stewart family,

A lovely cottage in an ideal location. Lovely local walks, pubs and eateries and close to all major Peak District attractions.

Previous Customer,

Great base to explore the Peak District! Lovely touches on arrival with a Prosecco bottle waiting for us in the fridge and lovely biscuits to have with some tea as well. Very nicely equipped kitchen, made it a pleasure to cook in (just the sink was a touch too small and since there’s no dishwasher it made washing up a bit tricky). Thanks for everything.

Previous Customer,

After all the regulations (C-19) we finally made our holiday that was booked in early July - worth the wait. A lovely part of the country to feel freedom again. Thank you for a very nice stay and the treats

Previous Customer,

Thank you for a lovely holiday in your very comfy cottage. Thank you also for all the goodies you left for us, it was very kind of you. I have replaced the biscuits , as best I could, as my husband took a great liking to them!! Best wishes for 2020-21. Keep safe. '

Collins family,

The cottage was 'lovely' and 'cosy'.

Spencer family,

Lovely stay at Undercroft - cosy accommodation, lovely wood/coal burning fire and a couple of great meals at the Black Bull. Nice walk to Eyam and exploring the Peaks
