Bank Pottery is a lovely cottage snuggled up on the side of Dovedale with incredible views way out across the valley. As you leave the Ashbourne to Buxton road and head for the cottage there is something almost magical as you 'drop over the edge' into the Dale with its dramatic hills and lovely sparkling river.
Locations don't come much better than this and nor does the cottage with its comfortable furnishings, sunny conservatory, log - burning stove and magnificent views. A perfect base for exploring the Peak District.
Get up early on your first morning and watch the sun light up the beautiful valley. Have a scrumptious breakfast in the conservatory to set yourselves up for a hard day's exploring. Wander across to the lovely village of Longnor for elevenses in the village cafe, to buy a lunchtime picnic from the 'real' village store, or to browse around the really interesting craft centre. And then just head out on the numerous local footpaths and lose yourselves.
A cosy, beamed lounge with glowing log burning stove, comfortable cottage -style suite, T.V. DVD and WiFi. A large conservatory with table and chairs. A well fitted dining kitchen with cooker, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. A utility room with automatic washer and tumble-dryer. A lovely double bedroom with fantastic views over the valley. A smaller double bedroom. A nice bathroom with small bath/shower over and W.C.
Linen and towels are provided. Central heating, power and fuel for the stove are included. A cot and high chair can be requested. There is an attractive garden with furniture. Parking for two cars is available. Up to 2 dogs are welcome. Smoking is not permitted. Access for people with disabilities may be difficult.
Weekly bookings are normally from Friday to Friday. Short breaks are not available.
Bank Pottery and the Potting Shed can be booked together to sleep six.
Nearest pub - Crowdecote 200 yds. Nearest village shop - Longnor 1.mile. Nearest supermarket - Buxton 5 miles.
A very relaxing week for humans and dogs alike! Clean, individual cottage - very welcoming atmosphere about the place, thanks for the starter pack! Thank you for sorting our the query so quickly! Love walks from the door in all directions. The Pack horse remains in good form despite the change of owners, who are very friendly, as all the locals have been. The garden is beautiful and the location is virtually perfect ( minus the road and Sunday motor bikes)
Thank you so much for another fantastic holiday in your wonderful cottage. We have had a wonderful time sitting in the garden taking in the amazing views and always enjoying coming "home" after, walking the dogs. It has been lovely to meet Heidi and Mike too - thank you Mike for suggesting walks for us to do. We really couldn't ask for a better place to stay and we are looking forward to a return visit. Thank you for the welcome pack too. See you again
Thank you for another fantastic week. We have thoroughly enjoyed being back at this wonderful cottage in it's amazing setting. We absolutely love the Peak District and staying here helps to make the holiday complete. We look forward to a return visit very soon.
Enjoyed our stay very much, the cottage is really cosy and we especially enjoyed the conservatory with it's views. Thank you for all the extras, they were very much appreciated. many thanks
We have had a great time, a beautiful cottage and location, really comfortable and cosy for our stay. Recommend a visit to Dove Dale, Tissington, Man Tor, Castleton, Lathkill Dale and Corber Edge. Recommend the Pack Horse Inn and The Bulls Head at Monyash for beer and food. 10/10 A*
Great cottage, great walks, great time See you again
Absolutely idyllic cottage with beautiful surroundings and stunning views. Thoroughly enjoyed walks and visiting different places, our favourite being Bakewell Thank you
What a great escape for a post covid release, to take the dog on some long walks. The cottage was perfect with stunning views and attention to all the small details.?? A wonderful welcome selection of goodies to make it home from home, even the fire was set in July (and we actually used it after a wet rainy walk). Thank you Heidi and Mike.
Thank you for our stay in your lovely cottage, home from home, once we had tackled the stairs!?? Lovely walks on the doorstep. Most of our spare time was spent in the conservatory gazing at the lovely view.?? Would certainly stay here again.
