Reviews

We had a wonderful stay at the church view cottage in Taddington. The landlords are really nice people and the cottage was peaceful, with quiet neighbors, including the sheeps in the field close to there. We spend xmas at the cottage and J. nicely had made the cottage christmassy. We had everything we needed there in a not that small space, it's actually well enough for a couple of people. The bathroom is just great, the bed very comfortable, everything was just beautiful, cozy, convenient. We'd deffo stay there again. The area is amazing and Derby, Nottingham, Manchester, Sheffield and Chesterfield are quite close ! A lot of good walks to do in the area, the moors are super beautiful to see and there are a lot of great landmarks in the area. Go ahead and book, you won't be disappointed.

Mrs D,

I highly recommend this lovely and beautifully appointed cottage. The hosts are lovely & the sheep out the back door add a special touch. The location is so convenient for walks, the Monsal trail & several really good pubs. We plan to stay here again.

Mrs H,

Lovely cottage, would happily stay again.

Mrs M,

Very high standard of accommodation, beautiful setting, walks from the door, friendly owners.

Mrs Marilyn S,

The cottage was beautiful situated in lovely surroundings and very comfortable.

Miss Sandra H,

Location

Buxton

Elegant, historic Buxton has been welcoming visitors to enjoy its natural thermal springs and superb setting, 300 metres above sea level, since Roman times and is the highest Market Town in England!

Known then as Aquae Arnemetiae, or the Spa of the Goddess of the Grove, its fortunes are currently reviving thanks to the restoration of its Grade 1 Listed centrepiece, The Crescent, as a five-star hotel and spa. Now open, the town’s famous thermal water, which rises from the earth at a constant temperature of 28 degrees C (82 degrees F), will be used again for spa treatments for the first time in decades, bringing a new life and new vitality to this already thriving and beautiful town.

Another masterpiece is the exquisite Edwardian Opera House, home of the internationally renowned Buxton Festival and host of other festivals, theatre, music and comedy shows throughout the year. Close by is the historic Old Hall Hotel, where ill-fated Mary Queen of Scots was held captive in the 16th Century. Just a short walk away can be found the mysterious Poole’s Cavern, known to be one of the best caverns for its wonderful tour and best showing stalactites and stalagmites in the whole of Derbyshire!

The beautifully landscaped and restored Pavilion Gardens, with its formal borders, lawns, play areas, lake, and family-friendly café and shop are just 3 mins walk from The Quadrant.
