Hannay Cottage, Belper

New for 2020! A super little retreat in brilliant Belper with lots of local shops, restaurants, pubs and even an award winning little cinema.

Sleeps: 2 (1 bedroom) | Change over day: Friday

Hannay Cottage is a super little retreat in the jumbles of cottages above the town which are all part of the UNESCO Industrial Revolution World Heritage Corridor. Original features like the traditional fireplace and shuttered sash windows have been tastefully combined with quality decoration and furnishings. Re-live life as a millworker while enjoying this 'quart in a pint pot' little place.

The cottage clings to the side of the valley and the views over the town from the garden and as you walk down the paths into the centre are amazing. How about exploring all the independent shops that helped Belper win a 'Great British High Street Award' before lunch in one of the lovely cafes. The afternoon might take you off into the Peak District but get back in time to visit the little Ritz Cinema or one of the town's super restaurants.

Belper is one of the gateways to the Peak District. Drive up the valley and you are very soon at Matlock Bath with its prom and cable cars, Chatsworth House with its fantastic gardens or Bakewell famed for its puddings. Carsington Water and the National Tramway Museum are hidden in the surrounding hills and you might even venture over to Alton Towers.
