Visitor's Comments

"Just returned from a lovely week away. High spec cottage with lots of lovely welcoming touches. Scrummy cake and tasty wine included. Lovely outdoor area which we could make the most of as weather was good. Did lots of walking without having to drive anyplace first. Dog felt as much at home as we did. Highly recommended"

"Beautiful home in a lovely setting. This is one of 3 cottages converted from an old coach house, each designed with a different theme. Woodpecker has an oak theme and it’s been done to a very high standard. Lovely spacious rooms with lots of light, and each of the 2 bedrooms has its own en suite. The only tiniest criticism I would say is that the beds were a little creaky and were doubles as opposed to king size, but there is plenty of space to have bigger beds. Overall though a fantastic place to stay, very relaxing with beautiful walks from the moment you step out of the front door. Would highly recommend."

"The property was very well furnished, warm and comfortable for four adults. The welcome pack of wine, cake, eggs, flowers and milk was lovely. The only suggestion that I would make, and it is only a small one, would be to ask the owner to put in a coffee table. We often found of an evening that we needed to put one of the little side tables in the middle of the room so that we could all reach the nibbles and the wine that we had put out to make the day complete! The cottage is situated in fabulous countryside and within reach of many attractions and walks. The two pubs are just down the road so what could be better. We had a great time."

"Superb cottage providing classy accommodation in a really peaceful locaton. Had three nights in Woodpecker cottage and had a great time. The cottage was just what we needed and we were very grateful for the welcome pack left for us on arrival. Based in an ideal location for walking and not far from a couple of lovely pubs. Would definitely recommend this place and hope to come back in the future."

"Great cottage in an excellent location for doing as much or as little as you wish in Derbyshire. The location enables easy access to all venues in Derbyshire, Dovedale, Bakewell, Matlock etc. Two good pubs within walking distance, Paper Mill and the Old Hall, both dog friendly. The cottage is well equipped and we loved the welcoming free range eggs and lemon drizzle cake on arrival. A very enjoyable week in Woodpecker cottage."
