Cara , Holymoorside

A brilliant cottage, created out of a mellow stone barn on a lovely little organic farm, with stunning views over the valley.

Sleeps: 2 (1 bedroom) | Change over day: Friday

Cara is a brilliant cottage, created out of a mellow stone barn on a lovely little farm. If the standard of the cottage is superb then so is its peaceful location, surrounded by rolling countryside, with stunning views over the valley, but with Holymoorside's village store and two great pubs just a wander across the fields.

Holymoorside is a very attractive village on the edge of the Peak District National Park with local walks through the bluebell woods by the river Hipper, or up onto Beeley Moor for wonderful views over Chatsworth .Yet civilisation is not far away with all Chesterfield's attractions - historic market square, high street shops, theatre, multi - screen cinema, and much much more - only 10 minutes drive away.

Head beyond Chesterfield to discover Bolsover's 'storm the battlements' castle, Bess of Hardwick's Hall and even Robin Hood's Sherwood Forest. Venture the other way into the Peak and revel in the world famous scenery, marvel at Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, relive bygone days at the National Tramway Museum or explore the Derwent Valley world heritage site.

"We have had a relaxing week thanks to the home comforts of Cara Cottage. Thank you for the milk wine and all the other thoughtful little touches. We have thoroughly enjoyed visiting Bolsover Castle, Crich Tramway Museum as well as the heights of Abraham to name but a few. We can recommend the food at the Highwayman Beefeater and the 'Dynasty' Chinese takeaway offer excellent food and an equally excellent delivery service! Cromford Mills with the walks along the canal make for a very enjoyable day out also.Thank you for a lovely holiday cottage."

"Our first visit to Cara Cottage and it has been everything we wanted. A lovely welcome, wine and milk a lovely touch. A very cosy, comfortable cottage with a view you could never tire of. The location is ideal for getting around with so many villages and market towns all within 30 mins. drive. We would recommend Bakewell and Chatsworth strongly, both worthwhile visits. Make sure you get to Chatsworth farm shop - fantastic, fresh, reasonably priced goods. The whole week has been relaxing and we would highly recommend Cara to anyone. Thank you"

"Beautiful and cosy cottage. Everything required - plus views to die for. We have visited the Dales over the last ten years, always staying in very comfortable cottages, however I must say that CARA is the best we have had the pleasure to stay in. Thank you Suzanne and James for your hospitality, the wine, milk and flowers."
