Cara is a brilliant cottage, created out of a mellow stone barn on a lovely little farm. If the standard of the cottage is superb then so is its peaceful location, surrounded by rolling countryside, with stunning views over the valley, but with Holymoorside's village store and two great pubs just a wander across the fields.

Holymoorside is a very attractive village on the edge of the Peak District National Park with local walks through the bluebell woods by the river Hipper, or up onto Beeley Moor for wonderful views over Chatsworth .Yet civilisation is not far away with all Chesterfield's attractions - historic market square, high street shops, theatre, multi - screen cinema, and much much more - only 10 minutes drive away.

Head beyond Chesterfield to discover Bolsover's 'storm the battlements' castle, Bess of Hardwick's Hall and even Robin Hood's Sherwood Forest. Venture the other way into the Peak and revel in the world famous scenery, marvel at Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, relive bygone days at the National Tramway Museum or explore the Derwent Valley world heritage site.

"Absolutely brilliant. What a lot of work you have put into this - spotlessly clean, toasty warm and such a lovely situation. Despite the mixed weather we were able to enjoy the open views from a warm room. loved the walk into the village through the wood and across the stream. Visited Buxton - the Opera House and Mike and the Mechanics. It was great to have cleaning and laundry essentials provided. Thanks so much. I have visited several cottages and Cara is 5star!!!"

"What a super cottage. We have enjoyed our week here in Cara cottage - it is so cosy and welcoming - as was the bottle of wine and milk. Everything has been thought of. I especially liked all the embroideries framed and the quilt on the bed. We visited Matlock, Chesterfield, Cromford mill and the Magpie mine. The weather was also kind to us. Thank you."

"We arrived to a warm welcome from Suzanne and James. Cara cottage is a special place, spacious and well- appointed. The wine, flowers and milk are much appreciated. Been walking in the amazing Peak District and visited Bakewell, Hardwick Hall(NT). Into Chesterfield to see the famous crooked spire, the church decorated with Christmas trees. We used the O.S. map everyday!!"
