"One of the nicest holiday cottages we have stayed in through years of coming to Derbyshire."

"We have had a brilliant time at the Byre. We love this area, so much to do and all within easy reach of The Byre. Well equipped, comfortable and sociable house. Girls loved the books and games and we all appreciated the welcome treats - Thank you! We hope to return again soon!!"

"As previous reviews have said, this holiday house had absolutely everything we needed for a wonderful half term week in Derbyshire. The living and dining areas were very spacious so even with two young boys we could find somewhere to relax. The boys loved the huge toy box and all the children's books. The kitchen had everything we needed and included far more than any other accommodation we have ever stayed in. As mentioned the welcome "goodies" we're appreciated and an added nice touch. The older grandson loved the table tennis in the garage! There were torches, umbrellas, washing up liquid, dish washer tablets...just everything you could need and everything in the house is of good quality. The location is perfect for the family to visit all the sites of the area, with Chatsworth, the Matlocks, steam railways, the Dark and White Peaks, caves, walking and wonderful scenery close by. We used the pubs in the village and The Tickled Trout was ideal for an early dinner with boys. Linacre reservoir was the best value pound spent on parking for two hours walking in stunning woodland with all the Autumn colours. We loved our time at the Old Byre and would thorougherly recommend it."

"We have really enjoyed our stay at The Old Byre,it is a beautiful property with everything there that you could possibly need.We met the owners on arrival as they live next door but, after that we were left to our own devices which was great,we were told to just let them know if we needed anything. There was a tray with tea etc.waiting for us on arrival and a bottle of milk and a bottle of wine in the fridge. The location was handy for everything we wanted to do.All in all,we would highly recommend this property."
