The Old Dairy, Butterton

A charming little cottage in picturesque Butterton village in the very heart of the wonderful Peak District.

Sleeps: 4 (2 bedrooms) | Change over day: Friday

The Old Dairy is a little gem of a cottage in the picturesque village of Butterton clinging to the sides of the valley as it tumbles down to the Ho Brook on the edge of Manifold Dale. Providing really delightful accommodation, the cottage has everything from a cosy lounge with crackling open fire, superb dining kitchen, lovely bedrooms with crisp linen, fluffy towels and bathrobes, and a super patio on which to while away sunny afternoons.

Butterton is just as great! Surrounded by beautiful countryside with dramatic tree studded hills, sparkling rivers in picturesque valleys and a wonderful patchwork of stone walls and fields, this is the real heart of the Peak District. Explore the village church with its soaring spire, have a paddle as the brook runs along the village street, marvel at the view from Thor's Cave or set out through the 'Peaks' on the Manifold Way.

And then of course there are all the Peak District's famous attractions close by ranging from Chatsworth House, mellow Bakewell and the dramatic Roaches to the beautiful Dove valley with its riverside walks, Victorian Buxton and even Alton Towers. End the day at a village pub or just make it home to the Black Lion in Butterton.

Visitor's Comments

"We have just returned from staying at The Old Dairy in Butterton and what a lovely place it was. The owners could not have made us more welcome and the cottage itself was beautifully fitted out. Every little detail had been thought of and it was an absolute pleasure to stay there. Butterton was ideal for visiting some beautiful places such as Wetton Mill, Milldale, Dovedale, Ilam and Ashbourne. The weather was incredibly kind to us and we discovered a whole new life without a TV . We hope to implement that particular change now we are home. Please pass on our grateful thanks to the owners for their kindness and attention to detail in their lovely cottage."
