Araglen is part of a handsome Victorian villa recently refurbished to provide beautifully appointed and comfortable accommodation in a peaceful backwater on the edge of Matlock. The large lounge has sumptuous leather sofas. There is space for a banquet in the dining room. Enjoy cooking in the ultra modern kitchen. Sink into the king-size beds at the end of the day.
It's a five minute walk through the park into Matlock with its interesting range of shops, pubs and restaurants. Wander the other way to explore Lumsdale's 'industrial revolution 'valley or climb high up onto Riber hillside for breathtaking views over the Peak District. Have an evening glass on the patio before walking along to 'Stones' bistro for a fantastic meal.
Stones is brilliant but there are lots of other restaurants and pubs in the town. For days out collect a super packed lunch from 'Darley Deli' in Darley Dale before a trip to Bolsover Castle and Hardwick Hall. Stop off at the Packhorse pub in Little Longstone on the way to Castleton's caverns. If you have been exploring Carsington Water then 'Mercia' bistro in Wirksworth is really worth a visit. Call at the Devonshire Arms in Pilsley for a great evening meal after visiting Chatsworth House and Bakewell.
An attractive lounge looking over the garden with leather suite, gas coal effect fire, T.V., DVD, Freesat and Wi-Fi. A super dining room. An ultra modern kitchen with hob, oven, microwave, large fridge, freezer and dishwasher. A utility room with automatic washer and tumble-dryer. A downstairs single bedroom. On the first floor a large double bedroom with king-size bed. A second smaller double bedroom. A bathroom with bath/power shower over and W.C. "We were very impressed with this beautiful, modern and comfortable cottage. Very well equipped with all you could possibly ask for - comfortable beds, well equipped and tastefully appointed kitchen, everything spotlessly clean. We really felt at home and enjoyed the evenings in a warm front room, thanks to the very homely gas fire."

"Thank you so much for having us to stay in your wonderful holiday home. It is beautiful and wonderfully equipped. We were so impressed by your hospitality and thoughfulness - the fresh flowers were lovely, the prosecco much enjoyed and the chocolate cake was delicious! I'm sorry we didn't leave any for you! We were blessed with good weather and have made many wonderful memories of the beautiful Peak District this week. We would love to come back and will certainly be recommending Araglen to others."
