Description
Little Hallmoor Castle is a unique little 'castle' with its mellow stone walls hiding a comfortable interior. Hidden away in the peace and tranquillity of the Derwent Valley hillside, you can almost hear the silence as you gaze at the view through the trees from the roof top terrace. Enjoy the early morning birdsong and the local wildlife inhabiting the surrounding woodlands. It is hard to imagine you are just a few minutes from the local towns!
The castle was built as a nurseryman's cabin or 'bothy' about 150 years ago but it has now been converted into a lovely holiday retreat. Simple decoration, comfortable furnishings and a nice kitchen and shower room are complemented by hard wood floors, a warming log burning stove and picture windows.
Country walks through the hillside woods or down into super Halldale radiate from the door. Just a few minutes in the car will take you to Bakewell, Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and all the Peak District's other attractions along the valley.
INSIDE THE PROPERTY:
Ground Floor:
A double bedroom and a single bedroom, each with clothes storage, wooden flooring and electric heating.
A shower room with electric shower in cubicle, basin in vanity unit, WC, extractor fan and shaver point.
First Floor:

A garden shed adjacent to the property houses a table-top freezer and washing machine.
A private parking space is available, with turning space, at the top of the garden, with a path about 150 yards down the stepped sloping lawn to the castle.

Location
DARLEY DALE
Darley Dale lays claim to be one of the longest villages in England running for 4 miles along the beautiful River Derwent from the wonderful town of Matlock to the peaceful village of Rowsley. It is an ideal base to visit the nearby attractions of the Peak District. Situated at the confluence of the rivers Wye and Derwent it is home to the UK’s only native population of rainbow trout. It is possible to arrange a day of fly fishing at the Peacock Hotel, Rowsley but you aren’t guaranteed to catch one!
You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to nearby places to visit. The wonderful ‘Palace of the Peaks’ Chatsworth House and medieval Haddon Hall are on the doorstep as are the town of Matlock and the picturesque market town of Bakewell. Don’t forget to try a tasty Bakewell Pudding! Take a trip on a steam train at Peak Rail or take the little ones to see the animals at Matlock Farm Park.
There is a host of local amenities in Darley Dale. A butcher’s shop sells local meat and there is a handy small supermarket, post office, doctors’ surgery and chemist. To tempt your tastebuds there is the Sticky Fig delicatessen and the Pickled Pear café whilst Barrington’s and The Grouse Inn serve meals at lunchtime and in the evening. Many more options for foodies can be found in Matlock and Bakewell.
Local Pubs: Square and Compass, Darley Bridge. Grouse Inn, Darley Dale. Grouse and Claret, Rowsley.
