Lane End Cottage is a lovely country cottage in the heart of picturesque Tideswell village. It offers really comfortable accommodation with its sumptuous suite and glowing log burning stove in the lounge, well fitted and equipped dining kitchen, two super bedrooms, a modern bathroom and a large detached conservatory.
Tideswell is one of Derbyshire's best villages. Gathered around the magnificent 'Cathedral of the Peaks'church there are jumbles of cottages down little lanes, proper village shops, cafes, restaurants, three pubs and even two chippies! Try 'High Nelly's' for lunch before you lose yourself on lots of wonderful walks down leafy dales in the surrounding countryside. Make sure you are back in time for a brilliant evening meal in the Merchant's Yard before the last glass in the cottage conservatory.
This is the very heart of the Peak District National Park with its world-famous scenery, yet you might be tempted to visit lots of the other local attractions. Victorian Buxton with its magnificent Opera House is great. Castleton with its spooky Blue John caverns is unique. Go Ape adventure playground is a favorite with our kids. Chatsworth House and gardens and nearby Haddon Hall are just amazing. Have a Pudding sitting by the river in Bakewell!
A very comfortable lounge with sumptuous suite, glowing log burning stove, T.V., DVD, Freeview and WiFi. A well fitted and equipped dining kitchen with cooker, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. A utility room with automatic washer and tumble dryer. An attractive double bedroom with mellow pine furniture. A smaller twin bedroom under the eaves suitable for children. A modern bathroom with bath/shower over and W.C. A detached large conservatory with furniture.
Linen and towels are provided. Central heating, fuel and power are included. A cot and high chair can be requested. There is a large, secure rear garden/patio area with furniture. Parking is in the quiet square right outside the cottage. Pets are welcome. Smoking in the cottage is not permitted. Access for people with disabilities may be difficult.
Week bookings are normally Friday to Friday but short breaks are available throughout the year excluding Xmas and New Year.

"I really enjoyed my second visit to this cottage. I have stayed here before at Christmas. They put up decorations and lights which were lovely. Its very cosy, comfortable and nice and warm. Kitchen and bathroom nice, as was the main bedroom, top bedroom ideal for children. Washing machine in covered outside room, very useful. Ideal for me and my dogs. Nice little garden area with sun conservatory at back and garden furniture. Nice neighbours too. I would recommend and would certainly go back. :)"

"A lovely cottage in a beautiful town with all the shops you need. A fab pub round the corner too. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Unfortunately we had to leave a day early as we had a poorly dog so didn't get to explore all the national park or the local chippy. The weather was perfect too so we were very lucky. Hope to return again."

"We had a fantastic long weekend in Tideswell. Centrally located, with all the amenities we needed (Coop, pubs, bakery, good restaurant - The Merchant's Yard, etc.) and great walking from the cottage and the surrounding areas (Mam Tor, Bamford Edge). The cottage was cosy and comfortable and it was good to have room for the bikes. It was well kitted out and the only thing we found to be missing was a teapot - I guess not everyone uses one these days! We will definitely return!"

"This is a wonderful cosy cottage, perfect location in Tideswell and in the Peak District. The cottage is well equipped , the lounge comfortable and quick to heat and the bed very comfortable! The bath is a good size and the shower nice and powerful. The cottage enjoys a sunshine trap conservatory up the steps in the patio area which we enjoyed at the end of the day. We took two Labradors and they soon adapted to going up the short flight of steps to the patio and gravel area which has a recently planted border. Mostly they slept in their baskets, tired out from the long walks we went on from the cottage itself. Nice not to always have to take the car out. Parking was easy. Tideswell is a great place, quiet yet lively with pubs, chip shops, co- op, cafes, bakery and sandwich shops and more, making "catering" easy and convenient after a day out walking. We and the dogs, enjoyed several evenings in the Horse and Jockey pub with its welcoming staff, food and quiz night. We loved this cottage and we loved Tideswell and will definitely return."

"The cottage is just as one would expect from a modernised cottage of this type. We found it very comfortable for two but a family of four would manage. Fairly steep stairs and steps between bedroom and bathroom. We were able to park very close all the time. Good village centre location with amenities close to hand."

"What a fabulous little cottage. We felt immediately at home. How refreshing to go somewhere where they appreciate that your dog is on holiday too. This cottage had throws for the furniture in the living room and a bowl of dog biscuits in the kitchen! All in all the facilities were good, parking is easy, it’s located centrally in the village and you can walk from the door or drive out to some fabulous walks. We will certainly return."
