Middle Peak View is an absolutely wonderful cottage looking out over the valley towards the little historic town of Wirksworth. The classy interior is beautifully furnished and decorated with its lounge gathered round the log burning stove, cosy sitting room, light and airy dining room and really well equipped kitchen. Add the luxury bedrooms, superb bathroom with roll top bath and separate shower, downstairs cloakroom and a lovely sunny patio and garden and you will realise this is a very special place.
Jumbles of cottages, secret alleyways, and sleepy cats on Aubretia clad walls sum up Wirksworth. It's a great place to explore with interesting local shops, traditional pubs, good restaurants and the heritage centre and trail. Mercia is our favourite bistro but you might also like to try Le Mistral restaurant. The Fish Bar, Balti and Chinese are perfect for takeaways. There is even the amazing Northern Lights little cinema.
Numerous walks radiate right from the cottage door and local treats include rides on the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, wandering around Carsington Reservoir, cycling out along the High Peak Trail or perhaps exploring industrial revolution Cromford. Wider horizons encompass all the Peak District's attractions from Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall to Matlock Bath's cable cars and the National Tramway Museum.
A superb lounge with glowing log burning stove, T.V., DVD, Netflix and WiFi. A cosy sitting room. A lovely dining room. A modern kitchen with bespoke units, hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and automatic washer/dryer. A wonderful double bedroom with views over the valley. A second double bedroom of the same high quality and views. An attractive bathroom with roll top bath, separate shower and W.C. A downstairs cloakroom with W.C.

"We have thoroughly enjoyed our week in your beautiful cottage. We love the furnishings and decor. We have been lucky to enjoy beautiful weather and have explored the area especially our long walks in Lathkill Dale and Lumsdale falls. Chatsworth House more than lived up to expectations. A llama however, was unexpected , but we have enjoyed watching it in the field behind the cottage"

"Our last morning in this wonderful cottage. We have stayed in several cottages run by DCC all of which were excellent but this is one of the v best. We were lucky to have excellent weather and much enjoyed watching the sun going down sitting on the patio. We visited Castleton , Buxton , Carsington, Bakewell, and of course Chatsworth ( including the farm shop!). We hope to return v soon . Thank you."

"What a beautiful cottage in lovely surroundings. We had a lovely week, weather different every day , one day hitting 17 degrees another 4! Lovely walks nearby on the high peak trail, Masson Mills in Cromford very good for young children , play area in door only £1 per child for as long as you want , ideal for a rainy afternoon. Bakewell and Matlock very nice towns along with Wirksworth. Carsington Water lovely walks around the lake. Coop in Wirksworth ideal , has everything you need. Thank you for a lovely holiday in your cottage. We just suggest a plastic tablecloth for the table."

"What a wonderful delight in entering ‘Middlepeak view’ ! From the furnishings to pictures , the way everything has been fitted to very high standards. The living room with the log burner was so cosy, and what worked well was the kitchen being open with the dining area made it all very practical, another good point was the down stairs toilet. The extra sitting room was fab- our men taking time out . Loved the bedrooms ; beds very comfy with fresh and crisp linen. The bathroom was the icing on the cake, fabulous bath and shower. We loved the little windows , even though they have all been modernised they have all been in keeping with the property. This has been one of the best properties we have ever stayed in, and it is every credit to Lorna and David , for all the renovations that have been carefully worked out. This is a superb cottage to stay , with local amenities to discover Derbyshire. We had a wonderful week here and it is highly recommended David and Marie & Tina and Dennis"

"Had a lovely week in Middlepeak view joined for part of the week by our daughter. Lots of lovely walks including Cromford moor, Osmaston estate and a circular walk through Carsington and Brassington . Had a super meal at the Black Swan - would highly recommend it. The cottage is beautiful and had everything we could possibly need. The renovation of the property was fascinating - obviously a labour of love! Many thanks to Lorna and David for allowing us to rent this lovely home."

"An absolutely fantastic cottage right in the heart of the Peaks. We had a great few days there, hiring bikes on the High Peak Trail, eating out locally and going on walks straight from the door. The cottage itself is of very high quality with everything you need and more. The log burner was just so lovely to light after our walks. Locally in Wirksworth there are lots of pubs, including the Hope And Anchor that was welcoming, great food and very family friendly. Worth a visit is Northern Lights Cinema, a tiny local cinema with a vintage feel, with a bar - great. We were very sad to leave Middle Peak View."
