Description
Rose Cottage is absolutely superb. As a traditional Derbyshire Cottage in the midst of the lovely village of Youlgreave it is a brilliant base from which to explore the 'Peaks'. The lounge is charming with its log burning stove. The bedrooms are perhaps the best of all with their superb beds, crisp linen and fluffy towels.
Youlgreave is just as brilliant. It's a 'real' village with a lovely church, proper village stores and great pubs all just a stagger away. But don't indulge too much because a stroll down Bradford Dale, spotting the kingfishers and dippers in the river, and all the other incredible walks around the village, will beckon in the morning.
When you are not 'outward-bound' there are innumerable other things to do and see. Wonderful Chatsworth House, lovely Haddon Hall and super Bakewell are only 5 minutes drive away. Or perhaps make it a day out cycling along the High Peak Trail, splashing about in Carsington Water, riding Peak Rail's steam trains, storming Peveril Castle or even Alton Towers is an easy drive away.
INSIDE THE PROPERTY:
A delightful lounge with Chesterfield sofa, two armchairs, glowing log burning stove, TV, DVD player, DAB radio/CD/bluetooth and WiFi.
A quality, well equipped dining kitchen with drop leaf table and chairs, induction hob, oven, microwave, fridge freezer, slim dishwasher and washer/dryer.
First Floor:
A very attractive double bedroom with beautiful furnishings including a brass bedstead.
A smaller twin bedroom, again with cast iron/brass bedsteads; sloping ceilings with some limited headroom.
A bathroom with shower over the bath, basin and WC.
OUTSIDE:
There is a lovely garden with garden furniture about 10 yards from the back door across the shared rear yard. Parking is available on the road outside the cottage and on the other quiet lanes in the village.
Linen and towels are provided.
Central heating, power and an initial supply of fuel for the stove are included.
A cot, highchair and stairgate can be requested.
One pet is allowed by arrangement and must be kept on a lead in the shared rear yard/garden.
Smoking is not permitted.

Location
YOULGREAVE
The beautiful village of Youlgreave stands high above Bradford Dale and Lathkill Dale with the clear, sparkling rivers running through the valleys below. The wide banks of the River Bradford are a perfect spot for a picnic. Or walk south-east to the gritstone outcrop of Robin Hood’s Stride and on to Stanton Moor, a designated Scheduled Ancient Monument featuring more than 70 barrows and 4 stone circles, the best known of which is Nine Ladies. Youlgreave is truly situated in an ancient landscape. Three miles west of the village is Arbor Low, one of the largest Neolithic henges in England.
Today, Youlgreave is a bustling, popular village with a range of shops, cafes, a post office and pubs.
Nearby is Bakewell, the main tourist town of the Peak District with its Bakewell Puddings made to a secret recipe. It’s also just a short drive to magnificent Chatsworth House or the more homely Haddon Hall. Don’t forget to visit Caudwell’s water powered flour mill with its vegetarian café and craft shop or the award-winning Chatsworth Farm Shop.
Local Pubs: The Bulls Head, Youlgreave. The Farmyard Inn, Youlgreave
